Shooting Star
Look up at the sky! Is it a bird or plane? Is it a UFO? No, it's a shooting star. But this glowing light isn't a star at all, and it doesn't shoot anything either. What you see is a meteor. A meteor is a chunk of debris that orbits the sun just as we do. Little pieces of the meteor can chip off. They hit the air above us and burn up. It can look like a great star shooting across the sky. If a bunch of pieces burn up all at once, it is called a meteor shower.
