Musical Theater Camp
August is my favorite month because musical theater camp begins. For the past two summers my mother has been enrolling me in this camp. At first I wasn't happy at having to go to camp all day long. I thought it would be just like school! But I was wrong. I learned to paint sets and played lots of acting games. I pretended that I was angry and the next moment I was happy. At the end of camp, we put on a play for the parents.
I wonder what play we will be performing this year. I hope it is a play with lots of action. Once we put on Anne of Green Gables but it did not have a lot of action. After I arrive at the theater, I take a seat on the stage. Madame Trotsky is already sitting at the piano bench. She tells us that we are going to be putting on the play, Peter Pan. I am thrilled. I put up my hand and volunteered for Captain Hook. He is such an exciting character. I can't wait to learn my lines.
